The Best Double Buggy Strollers
A double buggy is the best when you are expecting twins or have two children of different ages. The best ones are simple to maneuver and handle rough surfaces and kerbs.
They also come with features such as large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that can be adjusted.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double
The City Tour 2 Double is the smallest double stroller in the Baby Jogger range. It's made for travel and easily fits through the majority of standard doorways with its ultra-narrow design, it's also one of the most lightweight double buggies that are available, weighing only 14lb when folded. It's ideal for travel with a toddler and a newborn because you won't be able to exceed the allowances for luggage on airlines. It also folds up to the size of a bag for travel so you can tuck it away in the back of your car when it's not being used.
It's easy to fold the Z-shape by using one hand. Once you've gotten used to it, it's compact and can be folded in a matter of minutes. However, our tester discovered the auto lock to be a little confusing. As the handlebar doesn't lock into position when you press it, it hit her legs when she was using it. She also felt the handlebar was a bit too short and especially with the large changing bag hanging off of it.
Unlike other lightweight travel buggies, this doesn't skimp on features and is one of the most feature-packed double strollers on the market. It's compatible with two carry cots (available separately) and offers multiple recline positions, and a UV 50+ canopy. You can also add an additional bassinet to one or both seats to transform this into a travel system.
The four tires made of rubber are great for pavements as well as urban terrain. However, they're not designed for off-roading. They struggled with long grass and gravel and there was not enough clearance between the wheel bracket and wheel which meant that mud could get stuck easily. That being said, our tester still loved riding this buggy, and it did climb some beautiful dirt hills.

They are also adjustable which means they can be placed according to the needs of siblings. iCandy have introduced the first-ever 'cinema' seating system that allows parents to maintain eye contact with their children. They can be repositioned so that they face the parent or the world.
It's a heavier tandem buggy however it's very easy to use and steer, particularly on smooth pavements. It's stable in double and single modes and even on sloping ground. It's not as easy to use on public transport because it requires two hands on the handlebar. It's also a little heavy and will not fit in a standard car boot with the seat attached but this can be overcome with some cautious planning. iCandy includes an infant footmuff and a changing bag in the price, so this is an excellent value package for new parents.

5. Nipper Double V5
The Nipper Double V5 is a updated version of Out 'n' About of the award-winning, all-terrain buggies. It is designed for twins or siblings, and comes with independent reclining chairs, compatibility with carrycots, as well as lightweight frame that allows for easy manoeuvrability on bumpy terrain.
The height-adjustable handle and rear wheel suspension ensure the most comfortable ride for children up to 22kg. The tough pneumatic tyres, that are easy to clean, also provide a smooth ride when jogging. The 360-swivel front wheel can be locked in place to make it easier to maneuver around the city, and the single pedal brake is easy to use.
Our testers noted that the Nipper Double was incredibly easy to manoeuvre, even when moving on uneven ground or when turning fast in a busy street. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was also hugely appreciated.
They also appreciated that the hoods could be moved back and forward and back, making them much easier to adjust to the sun or for wind protection. They did not offer the same coverage as Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It's probably worth having an additional rain cover in the case.
Overall, our testers were impressed by the Nipper double's ability to allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From seeing double pram buggy in the forest to rushing to a park for a playdate, they loved it. They were also awed by how cozy and spacious the two seats are with plenty of space for growing toddlers to play in. The absence of parent-facing seating and the inability to use car seat in this buggy were cited as a drawback by our test participants. They would also have liked to see a larger storage space to store shopping items and other accessories.
